Ken Ward with a Jewfish

G'day guys,

Fishing the river has been a bit slow for me with all the fresh we've had lately but managed to get a few fish on plastics after a lot of persistence.

My usual turn to favourite lure (blades) just weren't doing it. Signs of active fish were scarce although isolated patches of bait showed on the sounder.

I noticed a black cormorant surface near a jetty with an average size river prawn. So tried a range of Squidgie bloodworm sizes mostly 80mm and 100mm with jig head weights 1/8,1/6,1/4 oz.

Was slow going but ended up with 3 Jew to 60cm, 1 reasonable Diamond Trev., 1 good Flathead, and a small GT.

Not brilliant fishing but still a great day off work.

Ken
